LYQP is a virtual production company with only one permanent member: me. Having had piano lessons as a child but being to lazy to practice I often tried to make up my own things. Then I heard ELO with 'Out of the blue' and got in to symphonic rock. I bought a Solina string ensemble from my first savings which more recently suffered a bit from a road accident (don't worry Peter) and lost some of its keys (so I sampled it fa while ago). I got addicted and bought a Casio CZ1000, a Korg MS20, a Kawai K1 when the CZ got nicked, a Mac Classic for MIDI, an Alesis D4 with a Samick mixing console, a Shure microphone, a digital 8-track in 97, and more recently a PC. Before 95 I made a few public appearances in 'Raggende Anne', ' Koen en het rottend zaad', and 'Debakel', all ancestors of 'Bescheming Bevolking', but making live music - that's not me. As I tend to forget what to play and when and how, I prefer to compose and record at home. Luckily, others help me out now and then with vocals and guitars, i.e. marjolein kikkert, dave tellam, and humphrey brugghe. The music of LYPQ is offered under various names: Nutmeg Nuisance, OEMPF!, The Trance Moebius Express and The Orbit of Io. I am possibly inspired by 10cc, alquin, wally badarou, beck, brand X, bruford, camel, caravan, cinnamon circle a.k.a. wietze krikke, george duke, eddie jobson, elo, eloy, genesis, gentle giant, het goede doel, happy the man, rupert hine, allan holdsworth, jean-michel jarre, kayak, mike keneally, fay lovsky, king crimson, the KLF, level 42, M., national health, alan parsons project, pink floyd, porcupine tree, raggende manne, samla mammas manna, klaus schulze, soft machine, spinvis, spocks beard, startled insects, dave stewart (the other one), robert jan stips, supersister, tangerine dream, UK, von zamla, kit watkins, wings, yes, and frank zappa.
